Energy Efficient Housing Found in Boca Raton

Whether you’re living in one of the country club neighborhoods or one of our many high rise condominiums, your home may be on the brink of extinction when it comes to energy efficiency. Today’s green-friendly design/build process entails more to the eye than one can see whether we’re talking recycled materials or solar power. If you’ve been in the market for luxury property where environmental design is top of your wish list, then continue reading for more information.

Buying a home in one of the most sought-after communities in Palm Beach County can often be challenging. However, if you’re someone who has a passion for energy conservation, you can narrow down your search by the type of builder, the processes in place to make a neighborhood a safer place for the ecological makeup of the planet. But, how do you know if an established or new development is conservative or not?

Many of the luxury condominiums have been leaning toward energy efficiencies. Condo associations for these developments have taken measures toward making their buildings and residents comply with preserving our energy. For example, they may be constructively disposing of waste materials or providing solutions for towel services if there is such a thing. If they are using Energy-Star efficient laundry machines or creating awareness by using recycling bins the management are advocates for conservation. For those of you who are advocates for preservation, this may be the type of community you’d find attractive when buying your next property.

Moreover, Floridians love green friendly places to live, and you'll admit you will too! Another big reason for liking energy efficiency is the savings! Whether you’re switching to a smart home status or you’ve decided to install solar systems, you’ll be finding ways to put money back into your wallet. The way you can save money and energy is by contacting Florida Power and Light to determine if there’s anything you can do to lower your bills. While solar power may not be available to everyone, there’s plenty to brag about when your real property takes advantage of this sustainable environment.

There’s plenty of things you can do even if your home isn’t able to have solar panels installed. For instance, your HVAC system may need to be repaired, replaced or updated. Your heating and cooling system is most likely running constantly. Floridians need to have the relief from the hot and humid temperatures. By using these essential household appliances, you’re also hiking up your bill. Your HVAC needs to be appropriately installed and the correct size. In many cases, the units connected are using more capacity than needed and will either need to be replaced or repaired, so there’s proper usage.

Also, smart homes provide solutions for things like HVAC’s light usage and so forth. Most models or integrated systems allow you to set timers for heated flooring to lights and music. Since you can program smart home devices, you can walk out the door with confidence, that you’re still conserving energy.

While some of the current and future builders are leaning toward more conservative practices and concepts, the state of Florida is also encouraging changes to be made. The officials at the top levels see the benefits and want to provide rewards for such efforts. In fact, they are serious about creating solutions the Florida Solar Energy Center has designed a rating system to help mandate the many changes needed to keep our cities intact. Not only does the rating help to monitor changes and improvements, but people like architects are also helping implement the plan. Imagine how valuable these programs are to benefit our planet?

Other than the state of Florida, architects, and green-friendly volunteers, you can do a ton of things to help expedite the safety when it comes to ‘Mother Earth.’ Here are a few to consider:

Switch to LED light bulbs. Not only are these helpings illuminate your home, but they also use a ton less energy. Take for instance an incandescent light bulb versus an LED, the Incandescent will cost around $211 over 20-years, and the LED is only $34. While that may not sound like a lot, this cost savings can add up over time.

Besides the LED lighting, set your air conditioner for a temperature you can live with but that’s not cold. Most of the residents find they are right around 73 degrees. By setting the thermostat with inconsistency, you’ll be wasting a lot of unnecessary energy. You’ll also find setting to one temperature and sticking with it to be a money saver!

Another item on the list is recycling. Don’t let go of things like old computers and broken cell phones take up space in the landfill. Instead, start a fundraiser collecting these items. Or request your management or country club to offer convenient places to dump such items. Whatever the case may be, doing some recycling will help achieve your goals.

You can also make another goal to drive less, carpool and to use services such as LYFT and UBER. Both companies offer luxury rideshare and are an excellent way to get around while putting the brakes on the carbon footprint!

Next, and the biggest reason why Floridians love green-friendly houses is primarily due to our naturally beautiful state. Florida is full of gorgeous and innocent wildlife, plants and landscape. Everything from our oceans to the palm trees lends to the beautification of our homes. Since we live in a tropical state with tons of organic splendor, we must preserve what’s surrounds us. Whether you’re having coffee on your veranda or you’re spending the day at the beach, you are always reminded of the reason why energy efficient housing is crucial to us all. By taking the extra time and investing in this type of house, you allow our planet the care it so deserves. What are you doing today to make Florida a beautiful place?
