Wine tasting in Delray Beach

When it comes to wine country not many people know Delray Beach is a place where you can sip world-renowned collections as well as learn about the families and histories that create them. There’s one location where they host events for you to explore full-bodied Merlots to Buttery Chardonnays without ever leaving the state. In this week’s blog, we highlight Burly Vineyards as well as Peju Napa Valley Winery to introduce one of South Florida’s intriguing venues known as The Wine Wave.

Whether you’re a serious collector or someone who just enjoys a casual glass of fermented concoctions, your perfect selection is a matter of preference. Once the palette is tickled by the joy of grapes or other fruits, it will seemingly crave the pleasure repeatedly. Let’s face it, once you’ve been spoiled by a crisp Pinot Grigio or have paired your favorite plate with a pungent Béarnaise, you’ve most likely done it with a smile. Wine tasting isn’t anything new to the South Florida region. However, not many people put the two together. One would assume margaritas and cold beer parade more often since Florida’s climate and lack of hills isn’t entirely appropriate for growing grapes. But, since there’s not a vineyard every few miles as there is in Napa Valley, we are partial to a few places where we can still find unique bouquets and discover new flavors nearby.

The Wine Wave is located on East Atlantic Avenue in the trendy and fashionable, Delray Beach. This month they will present wines from the Burly Vineyards and Peju Napa Valley as a tasting event. This is a fun and exciting place for those of you who are seeking to be well entertained and to indulge in your favorite past time.

Burly harvests Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernets, Chardonnay handcrafted by Massimo Monticelli who is the winemaker. Monticelli has been an artisan of elite wines and has worked at the Cabernet winery for Silver Oak. A master a genius to the art of creating such beautiful collections, you can expect nothing but the best with his blend of the highest quality of fruit. Because the air is cooler in the Napa Valley area, the grapes can stay on the vine much longer producing intense flavors that add to the finished products.

In addition to the vigorous and robust flavors, this line of signature wines is a rare treat as the vineyard is relatively small but intimate. In fact, they only produce 2,000 cases per year making each yielding a unique and unusual blend. The Wine Wave offers an exclusive way to sample select wines during scheduled times of the year. The Burly Tastings will be this Monday, March 6th, at 2:00 p.m. in the loft which is a nice way to become acquainted before investing online. The Wine Wave is a swanky venue with neon cabinets to store their current collection. There’s plenty of comfortable seating, and it’s ideal for people looking to relax, and explore. They currently carry over 2,000 different wines, beers, and liquors making this a hot spot for the fantastic downtown location. Don’t miss this limited-time opportunity for tasting the fine bouquets of the Burly Vineyard at this tasting.

Other than the Burly Winery, the Wine Wave will also host the Peju Napa Valley Winery with Sara Fowler as the winemaker. Fowler joined forces with Peju and has been there since 2006. Peju Province Winery must be very proud of this winemaker as she is a seasonal artisan who got her start at the Kendall-Jackson Winery before joining forces with Peju.

Furthermore, the winery itself was constructed in 1986 on 30-acres of land and nestled in the hills of Napa Valley. While the first crop of grapes was growing, the Peju family was struggling. The smaller vineyards were being passed up by, the larger for grapes being delivered causing the Peju family to almost close entirely. No matter how challenging it was to obtain the grapes from other growers, they managed. Because of their tenacity they took the medal for ‘Best of the Region at the California State Fair. That year was a good one and helped them to suffice while their home and the winery was being built. The winery is beautifully designed with a tower and elegant environment for tastings. The best part is this winery operates on solar power with 720 panels that make up 36% of the venues annual energy. The renewable energy earned the Napa Green Award since their innovative approach to environmental best practices.

The Peju, Napa Valley event, will be hosted at the Wine Wave this Tuesday, March 7th from 7-10 pm. Be sure to contact the staff at the Wine Wave ahead of time in case there are any delays. There’s also limited seating, and you may need to reserve your spot.

Henceforth, the Wine Wave is a chic and marvelous place for you to learn about the fine art of making wine as well as taking advantage of the benefits of wetting your whistle with the tart, sweet or smooth premium concoctions that come from nature’s vineyards. Be sure to take some home for your assortment and share with your friends or family.

Be sure to check with your associations or concierges, to see if they offer group rates or have an organized party attending either one of these events. Of course, they are more fun if you travel with someone and while you’re already on Atlantic Avenue explore the many other café’s, eateries and art shops along the way.

From fine art to indulging in some of the country’s 5-star wines, Delray Beach has a multitude of reasons to make this area one of your premier destinations. Whether you’re looking to invest in a condominium or an estate, we assure you, both Boca Raton and Delray Beach has all the amenities necessary to help you live the good life.
