The Symphony, Mizner Park and More Entertainment Boca Raton Style

If you’re someone who appreciates music or perhaps you’re a musician, you’ll want to check out some of the venues in and around town for entertainment. This week’s blog we highlight some of the best places to hear live music or see a show that will keep your heart playing time with the beat.

Whether you’re a fan or play music yourself, one thing you’ll be happy to know is that Boca Raton offers many beautiful venues for you to enjoy an evening out. We wanted to bring you some ideas that will help you get acclimated with your community and introduce you to the world of music in this location.

First, we must give some praises to the South Florida Symphony Orchestra as they are celebrating their 20th year. The SFSO is conducted by Maestra Sebrina Maria Alfonso who is a native of Key West. If you’re not impressed with her origin, then you might be impressed with the fact there are only 150 female conductors throughout the world! In addition to having a fantastic venue with an excellent composer, this is a unique place to become involved in charities. Don’t forget one of the best ways to see the orchestra, is to gather a group of friends and head down to one of their venues such as the Tennessee Williams Theater or the Parker Playhouse. In fact, if you’ve invested a luxury condominium or live in a country club estate, you could arrange an event with the concierge or your association. Many of the communities enjoy getting together for a social hour and what better way to spend time than over some music?

Next, Mizner Park offers concerts during the summer time. An amphitheater is an excellent place to catch a band or to take part in the festivities. The Count de Hoernle has a strong line-up of talent as well as fundraising events. These local celebrations are held throughout the year and are so much fun. Besides supporting your local neighborhood, you’ll be impressed with the incredible quality of sound. There’s never a chance to have a dull moment in the famous Mizner Park Square. For those of you living in Townsend Place, One Thousand Ocean, and Palmetto Park you’ll be happy to know there’s free transportation with the city’s Outlander Service. Furthermore, there’s an excellent selection of bistros, and cafes in the square for you to dine before or after an event. Be sure to check out their online calendar for more details.

Other than the Symphony, and Mizner Park, if you’re looking for some great entertainment to lift your spirits, then be sure to visit the School of Rock located off of 141 NW 20th Street. This is a superior school for children and adults where they learn music by attending camps and then performing for friends and relatives. Their instructors are incredibly talented, and you can see where the money is going because the students put on fantastic shows that are good for the whole family. Be sure to ask your community to support local up and coming talent. You’ll be happy you did. Nonetheless, it’s a great place to see the newest performers giving it their all. Many people living in the downtown Boca Raton area, help support the arts.

If you prefer to spend your time with more of an adult crowd, be sure to check out Arts Garage. Residents from places such as City Walk and Pineapple Grove have the opportunity to take in some local jazz and blues bands in their area of this beautiful home. The art gallery helps to build a stronger community by bringing people together to listen to music or admire and be inspired by the local artists. This is one spot you won’t want to miss and should make it a trip with friends. Be sure to visit their website to learn more about their Jazz Artists.

If you’re looking for other types of musical performances, then be sure to go to Eventbrite. You will find a plethora of events happening throughout the city. But, there’s always at least one type of musical festival on display. Take for instance the Live Disc Jockey spinning at the Classic Car Show “Diamonds and Donuts". This family-event features some of the area’s classiest cars and offers a fun atmosphere with the music set the mood. The establishment where this event is hosted is only a short drive from the Sea Ranch Club and Ocean Grande.

Now that you’re familiar with some of the local spots to see concerts, listen to jazz and support the arts, you’ll be happy to know, many of the local country clubs also have performances at their clubhouses. If you haven’t joined a club, be sure to check with the associations for open enrollment. Although Boca West is a private club, there are occasions where they have live entertainment and open their doors to guests. It’s an excellent policy to contact them directly to learn more.

One last place we’d like to mention for music, as well as dancing, is The Blue Martini Lounge. These spot features live bands every Friday and Saturday night. Along with a team of mixologists and terrific customer service, The Blue Martini Lounge is the ideal spot for bringing out of town guests. There’s never a dull moment, and the atmosphere is full of high energy. Another aspect of this fun club is its perfect location at the Town Center Mall. Catch dinner, go dancing or just sit back and have a few cocktails, the night is all yours.

Whether you want to spend your evening dancing up a storm or taking in the elegant sounds of the orchestra, we’re sure you’ll find any one of these places perfect. Besides, those wanting to spend their leisure time taking in the smooth sounds located throughout the city, you’ll enjoy each day in a town that embraces art and culture.
