To meet the needs of our current residents, as well as future members, Stonebridge Golf & Country Club is moving ahead with a significant renovation program which will serve all members for years to come. Stonebridge felt it Incumbent to keep the Club as up-to-date as possible, not only to attract vital new members, but also for the personal enjoyment of all of its members.
With this new plan, we will have the look of a totally new clubhouse without the inconvenience or cost associated with putting up a new building.
Our architectural designer for this project, Sam Rosenberg Design, is a prestigious firm whose many country club clients include several in the greater Boca area, namely, St. Andrews, Addison Reserve and The Hamlet. They currently are also working on a major renovation project for Fisher Island. They have analyzed our Club's needs, both current and future, and have come up with an integrated plan which, among other things, incorporates disappearing walls to provide flexible configurations for a host of different activities. Major reconfigurations will affect the lobby, Grille Room, cocktail lounge, dining room, card rooms, locker rooms, kitchen and offices.
And, finally, the fitness center will increase roughly 60% in size to answer our residents' requests and needs for increased class end workout spaces and will include massage and spa facilities.
Clubs in South Florida are increasingly committed to providing outstanding clubhouse amenities in order to attract the baby boomer population and to enhance property values. Needing to stay competitive, this project will enable Stonebridge to carve out a special niche as being one of the premier small country clubs in southern Florida.
Stonebridge will enter a new realm of sophistication and comfort with this renovation project, while maintaining the luxurious, warm and subtle elegance that our members value so highly.
Additionally, in en effort to address the ongoing problems with the putting surfaces on our golf course, which includes, among other things, the intrusion of the collar grasses that are making our greens progressively smaller, the slow response of our aging greens to seasonal changes, and the excessive aerification to which our greens are subjected, we plan to extensively resurface all of our greens beginning next spring. The golf course, however, will remain open during the resurfacing project utilizing temporary greens. Upon completion, the new greens shall be comparable in quality to the best in southern Florida and shall have an estimated life of seven to ten years.
