Neff DesignsIf you live in Boca Raton or are thinking of moving there, ask anyone what their favorite room is,  and you’ll most likely hear “The Kitchen”.  That continues to be a true statement, whether it’s a vacation home or your primary house. Luxury properties on the market today are incorporating the newer trends like softer colors, features with metal and wood, contemporary, yet clean, simple and functional designs.  In this blog we feature a few of the more popular interests for today’s charming kitchens.

The color palette that's raging throughout interior design magazines this year is leaving the bold and bright colors behind. Consider the aggressive colors bleak, tracing these tones in for more soft and subdued shades of gray, mint and lemon basil.  Instead of bright oranges as a highlighted feature use them.  The delicate hues seem to be primary choices for this year’s designer.

Monochromatic color swatches mentioned in places like Elle Magazine mix an urban style with contemporary flare.  These can be a mixture of the same color with different shades of that same color.  Let's assume gray is your primary, from charcoal to dove-gray and everything between is fair game. Throw the darker pieces in as complimentary accessories and not main central points.

You’ll find textures and fabrics have changed for, in keeping up with the direction of design.  'Metal meets wood' seems to be the theme throughout many of the designing magazines.  The big rage for spring décor is metal and wooden hoods that make a statement. Industrial and natural partner up creating a serene but modern allure.  Back splashes made of copper or brass are found to be an inviting contrast to the soft and calming colors. In almost every room, this is a fashionable style, and not designated to kitchens alone.  The finish of these types of metal gleams past finishes embellishing other surrounding textures.  One newer technique that is found is same patterns, but in different colors that are complimentary to each other.  A variety of small rectangle patterns in sand colors that are similar in shapes, but perhaps different designs go well.  Continuations of the same pattern in different areas, i.e., a rug with a small rectangle diagram and kitchen chair cushions can be created with same shape textiles.  As long as the pieces remain with the same shapes, they can vary with color, but they should be in the same color swatch. While the colors can contrast, they should still be square to square and not square to round for instance.

Cabinetry that is lit with LED lighting or other soft form of lights is making 2016 kitchens sizzle and glimmer.  Take into consideration little spotlights reflecting in metallic finishes that become brilliant solutions.  Lighting solutions for kitchen cabinetry is extremely beautiful with glass doors, making this a common feature as well.

Today’s designers are claiming the return of the Nordic Style from the 1960’s.  Lines are clean, squared, or rectangular and have a somewhat Scandinavian flavor.  Brilliant blues with Teak wood in geometric shaped furniture gives a contemporary appeal to the newer styles. Making this look ultra-popular.

Functionality is key in the design-build phase.  Charging stations, built in coffee makers and wine coolers are creating quite a stir and becoming a part of the design.  Technology never seems to leave your side with smart appliances and gadgets controlled from your smart phone.  Much of this technology can be controlled by voice command making this a well sought after feature for home owners of 2016.  The newer technology has become so advanced it allows you to talk to your appliances.  With the revolution of smartphones, it’s not a wonder the use of this innovation has been added to our kitchen areas, like the rest of the home. Once weird, now normal you can call your coffee maker and ask for it to make you a cup. Today's kitchen will embrace such ingenious lifestyle.

Well-crafted cabinetry designed by craftsmen at places like Neff Kitchens is a Miami favorite. The builder of high quality cabinets has been around for over 40 years. They are an excellent choice, if you’re seeking a contemporary design or upgrade that falls in line with the trends of this year.  This company masters glass doors that create a roomier appeal and give illusions of more space. This type of design is ideal for galley kitchen floor plans.  You'll also find this type of design integrating the cabinets with the appliances.Neff Kitchen Designs
Cabinet depth refrigerators, farmer sinks and even stoves that don’t protrude into walking areas have become more common.  This selection for a layout is inviting and tends to make the space look less crowded. The only downfall maybe lacks of space for the interior of the appliance. Flush cabinets are a gorgeous way to display your appliance ensemble, making a clean appearance.

Living spaces are being blended into the kitchen areas as extensions.  Workspaces, living room furniture and television viewing are all becoming common and natural parts of the kitchen.   Consider stand up desks off the side or an open floor plan that's able to view television. Many people are requesting this a more purposeful design throughout the country.

If you’ve got a beach house or waterfront property, like that of Toscana Condominiums in Highland Beach,  the new look is an excellent choice for boosting the mood to coastal living. Fixtures made of silver, soft powdery blue tones, and natural pieces of driftwood furniture make your beach home sparkle.  Instead of selecting a white wash or sand color for items like cabinets or walls, trade these in for more grays and greens. This color selection looks elegant with either a nautical or beach motif. Picture the natural look of the shoreline with cat tails and the mystery of a dramatic ocean. Make this an expression as a backdrop for your Florida home.

Ceramic tiles create a pretty and luminous wall.  Try taking this from counter to ceiling to give a dramatic look, that’s creating visual comfort.  Dramatic and industrial lighting, over the top of your island will derive inspiration that remains classic with a polished nickel finish.  Subway tiles make an interesting focal point that’s not overwhelming when used from counter to ceiling. These details really change the look of the space in general.

The direction is clean and minimal. Most of these kitchens are taking on this theme.  Collectibles and 'Knick Knack's are limited when displaying. Think of a no clutter, everything harmonizing environment.  Gentle patterns, that avoid busy is the whole idea.
