Boca Raton is Sparkling with Joyous Events Around Town

Whether you’re a local or just here visiting, you’ll love the holiday season at Boca Raton. The decorations, events, and sounds of laughter are all part of the magic for December 2018. You’ll find this to be one of the most sparkling times of year for the tropical state and the ‘City for All Seasons’. Take a glance at the lineup of incredible celebrations hosted here this month.

Dec 3rd -

Concert goers will enjoy this month where there will be sounds of joy at many of our Boca Raton venues. One of Brazil’s favorite guitarists will be strumming along to some jazz fusion and classic styles at the Boca Black Box. The Black Box opened its doors in August 2015 with the idea they owners would create a theater space that offers a reasonably priced New York style concert hall. You’ll love its quaint feel and who wouldn’t enjoy listening to the beautiful holiday music to keep you in the mood? Be sure to get your tickets early before it’s sold out! Tickets are $25 and $35.

Dec 5th –

Gather up the kids and grandkids, and head over to the 45th annual Holiday Street Parade. Over 64 floats will take to the street along Federal Highway and end at Sanborn Square. They’ll also pass through Mizner Park and will feature Tuba players, street performers and more. The annual tradition will keep you smiling all year round with so many fun and festive activities. Don’t forget to bring a camera or keep your cell phone charged for this colorful Boca Raton event.

Dec 7th –

Shabbath and Hannukah are gathering the community and heading over to the Temple Beth El. Both members and non-members invite you to "Chanukah Under the Stars" that will include service along with dinner and a musical celebration. If you haven’t been to one of their events you’re in for a real treat with this new tradition since 2010. You don’t have to be Jewish to attend, and you’ll be happy to know the proceeds are granted to the Jewish Outreach grant.

Dec 9th –

The Gingerbread Holiday Concert is happening right in our backyard! The Boca Raton Resort & Club partners with Lynn University by spreading some cheer with the whole family. Performers are from Lynn University’s Philharmonic Orchestra and will be using this opportunity to raise funds for its a conservatory. This will undoubtedly be a wonderful evening that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Dec 17th -

The Jingle Bell Jog will be running a 5k in Delray Beach this year. All participants will be wearing jingle bells to fill the air with holiday spirit while raising money. While the registration is closed, you can still enjoy the downtown Delray Beach area where there will be plenty of festivities for the whole family. Don’t forget to check out the 100-foot Christmas Tree located at Old School Square while your attending the other events! The awesome 25th year anniversary is this year as the tree is also noted to be one of the most famous trees in the nation!

Dec 18th –

Bad Santa Brunch at Tap 42 will be keeping everyone in spirits with some excellent drink prices and a terrific way for you to make some new friends. If you recently purchased a home here, this is an excellent place for you to become acquainted with some of the locals while having a spectacular time! With a friendly atmosphere, you can make friends or go solo. Either way, you’ll have a splendid time with some excellent food and a nice place to party with other Boca Ratonians.

Dec 18th –

FAU has its unique way of celebrating the holidays and will compete against the Northern Illinois at its Boca Raton Bowl. Tickets are on sale now and will sell out fast as the FAU stadium is predicted to pack fans into the bleachers. If you like football and want to kick off the Christmas Celebrating early, be sure to join the players and fans this year!

Dec 22nd –

All you yacht owners and enthusiasts out there will enjoy this traditional event. The Holiday Boat Parade is spectacular and something everyone loves to see along the Intracoastal and starting at the C15 canal. Boat owners decorate their vessel with sparkling lights and glide down the water creating a vision that is unforgettable. Besides the beautiful watercraft, there’s plenty of food, drinks, and activities for all the kids at Red Reef Park. Get your entries in soon for this event so you can show off your lighting skills while being the captain!

Dec 29th –

Kwanzaa Celebration begins at 2:30 and 5:00 pm at Delray Beach. This cultural event includes candle lighting, food, and music. Bring the family and experience this joyous event with loved ones. Besides, there’s both indoor and outdoor, and the Spady Museum is an exciting place to host a party such as this one. Not only will you be educated and inspired you’ll also be learning Swahili traditions. This is a ‘must attend’ celebration!

While the annual tree lighting took place on the 21st of November, you can still gather around if you missed this special occasion. Mizner Park is one of the most beautiful places to visit during this time of year. With all the lights and decorations, you can’t help but be in the Christmas spirit! Don’t forget to stop by some of the local stores and support those small businesses as well as the bigger ones. Also, there’s plenty of sweet treats at this location too such as ice cream and donuts.

The Spirit of Giving Holiday Gift Drive is going right now where you can help children who are less fortunate have a happy holiday too. They are predicted to help over 4,500 kids this year and its an excellent way to spend your tax dollars or to provide gifts for those in need. Be sure to ask how you can become involved in this yearly drive.
